Mailbox Rental

I understand that you will give me a U.S. mailing address. Is it a P.O. box address?

No, you will not receive a P.O. box number since most U.S.A. shipping companies will not ship to such addresses. As a member of Mailbox International, you will receive an actual U.S. mailing address. It is the address of our location with a unique client number. For example:

Pete Johnson
1097 Indian Grove Lane NL1234
Rogersville, MO 65742

Now U.S.A. shipping companies will have no problem shipping your merchandise to you.

May I obtain a U.S.A. shipping address in a state other than Springfield, Missouri?

Sorry, but no. With Missouri being centrally located in the United States, we do not find any benefit to either party in doing so. Whether a package is shipped from New York or Los Angeles, the cost for parcel shipping overseas is the same.

When can I start using my new U.S. mailing address? May I start immediately?

Yes, you may start using our mail and package forwarding service as soon as you need to.

Are businesses allowed to set up a Mailbox International account?

We understand and share our customers' concern for confidentiality. The privacy of our customers is of utmost importance to us; therefore, it is our policy never to sell or give out the names, addresses or any other information about our customers. We would only provide information about your address to a judicial authority under court order or subpoena but never to private citizens.

I have not received your initial confirmation for membership. What may have gone wrong?

If you have a Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail account, check your "Trash" or "Junk" e-mail folder as our "Welcome" e-mail may have gone to one of these folders.

I have friends and family who would like to share my Mailbox International account with me. Is this allowed?

No. Since our membership fees are free, we have found it unnecessary to offer this type of service. Therefore, we encourage your friends to sign up with our package forwarding service as well. Please feel free to take advantage of our referral program. For each referral that you receive, you will get $5.00 off your next shipment once they have used our services. However, you may include your friends' orders within your own shipment, but remember: it will still be sent to only the member's one address.

Also, your monthly/yearly membership fee is automatically charged through PayPal on your renewal date. However, if you wish to make other payment arrangements let us know.

Parcel Shipping Costs

We do offer the option of repackaging when it is possible and the customer so desires. This usually saves you substantially in the cost of shipping.

The box I shipped weighed less than what I was charged for? What happened?

Couriers are now charging what is termed "dim weight" or "dimensional weight." For this reason, a heavier weight may be charged to keep in line with courier charges. For more information, please visit our Shipping 101 page.

Is insurance for my shipment covered in my membership?

The first $100 of the shipping insurance is covered by Mailbox International. Let us know if you need additional insurance, which is $2.00 per $100 insured.

If an Ebay seller won't accept my credit card, can you send them a check or money order for me?

Yes, but there would be an additional charge of 10 percent of the total purchase price with a minimum of $25.00. You might consider using your own PayPal account. It will be the cheaper way to go and most "Ebayers" will accept this form of payment. Please visit our personal shopper service page.

What couriers are used to send my merchandise? How often are my packages sent and when will they arrive?

Our primary courier is FEDEX for your shipments.

We offer a few options on how often we forward your shipments to you:

  • We can send your package to you as soon as possible, if you would like. This is usually no later than the next business day after payment is received.
  • We will hold your shipment so you can consolidate other smaller shipments in order to save substantially on parcel shipping costs.
  • If you have other wishes on how we should handle your package forwarding, please let us know. Mailbox International is here to serve you.

Fedex offers two options in shipping.

We ship economy air (cheapest) by default. Priority on request. Most shipments are delivered in 1-6 days, depending on destination and shipping method.

Do you offer commercial invoices for my shipments?

Yes, a commercial invoice is always provided at no extra cost. You may use the retail value or the wholesale value (fair market value), which is about 50 percent of the retail. Please note that if you purchase insurance it will only cover the declared value.

How does the paper flow work?

It is very simple. When we receive a package for you and then forward it to you, you will receive notification by e-mail. Included in the e-mail you will find information regarding where it came from, the weight, tracking number and shipping costs. The shipping rates will be equal to or lower than the rates posted on our web site.
